The Cosmic tea: January 20-26
Happy Aquarius season! It is the dawning of a new era for us as the Sun forms a conjunction with Pluto the god of the underworld. Meaning a bright shining light will be shed on some of the more darker aspects of the human experience. Every year, as Pluto goes deeper and deeper into Aquarius the sun will illuminate its lessons on the underbelly of revolution, eccentricity, and humanitarianism. Pluto is only in the beginning of the Aquarius experience, so its story is still in exposition mode. So far, we have seen advancements and in A.I. that leave us to question it’s place in society, several genocides taking place across the globe, and fascists rise to power. But the beautiful thing about Aquarius is that it abandons the idea of relying on a savior to come and fix everything and it reminds us of the power of the collective to make real, lasting change happen. My hope is that as Pluto travels deeper into Aquarius, we will tap into our collective power and work together for the greater good. This week’s astrology really highlights how magical the power of connection can be on a small scale and invites us to imagine how we can magnify that power to save our collective souls.

The moon is in Libra and the general mood of the day is cooperative unless you have strong Capricorn, Cancer, or Aries placements. These placements can conflict with the mood of Libra moon causing one to feel argumentative. The moon is also forming a strong opposition to Chiron in Aries, the wounded healer, meaning that some old wounds might come up today. These wounds may be brought up or triggered in conversation as the moon will be leaving its tense relationship with Mercury the planet of communication. Awareness is key. If you can identify and name the wound, you can tend to it.
Mercury in Capricorn will be teaming up with Venus in a beautiful collaboration. Conversations over the next three days may bear the fruits of connection and collaboration so keep an open mind. Mercury is also in a tense relationship with Chiron, which as I mentioned earlier, can trigger old wounds to be tended.
Tuesday, January 22 2025
At 2:31 p.m. CST the Moon will move into Scorpio, creating an atmosphere of angst and brooding. You may find yourself feeling especially tender after Chiron’s shenanigans yesterday. Here, the moon forms a tense relationship with Pluto, creating some resistance to any seedlings of inner transformation that have been sown.
The sun, having just moved into Aquarius will blend its energies with the god of the underworld, Pluto. This planetary formation known as a conjunction, can trigger shifts in our identity and a desire for personal inner transformation and will last until 1/28 and will be especially prominent with people who have strong Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio, and Taurus placements.
Mars, still in its retrograde in Cancer, will team up with Uranus in Taurus to help inspire new ways of taking action. With Mars having been retrograde in Cancer since 12/6/24, we may have been feeling stuck and/or frustrated. This Uranian collaboration might bring us a Eureka!! moment with fresh ideas that might help us with ideas to get unstuck and ease our frustration. So be sure to write down any brilliant ideas that come to mind to revisit once Mars leaves it’s retrograde on 2/23/25
Thursday January 23 2025
Before the moon leaves Scorpio at 10:26 pm CST, she will be quite busy today, making this an emotionally active day for us. She will help us ease any frustrations felt by retrograding Mars, hopefully in a healthy manner. There is a similar influence from Neptune in Pisces, the master of escapism so we could be called to escape in our creativity or spirituality. But the moon in Scorpio is notorious for processing emotions in a self-destructive way, so just be mindful of any impulses to self-soothe using unhealthy mechanisms such as substance abuse and delusion. But Scorpio is also a strategist, placing the moon in an opposition to Uranus, helping us to plan how we can execute any brilliant ideas that may have come up this week. This will feel abrupt and disruptive but with a little awareness we can channel the energy productively.
Mercury in Capricorn will also be especially busy. In addition to the previously aforementioned connections with Chiron and Venus, Mercury will also oppose Mars in Cancer, meaning tense conversations this day may help to illuminate how you might be feeling stuck in a rut with a little reality check which Mercury in Capricorn is famous for. Mercury will be in harmony with Uranus creating an ease in processing any brilliant ideas that may be triggered by the Mars-Uranus collaboration I mentioned earlier, which will still be prominent on this day
Saturday January 25 2025
The moon will have moved into Sagittarius the day before, appropriately conditioning us for the weekend. The moon in Sagittarius loves to have a good time, is carefree, and seeks adventure.
Venus in Pisces will be in harmonius dialogue with a retrograding Mars in Cancer, meaning our closest connections will help us ease our frustrations and we will feel less helpless. Connection will be our balm this weekend to soothe the re-opened wounds from earlier in the week.
Sunday January 26 2025
At 7:38 a.m. CST, the moon will move into Capricorn, beginning our day with a sense of responsibility.
Venus will collab with Uranus meaning our connections will provide us inspiration and a sense of freedom. Mercury teams up with Neptune, giving us the opportunity to ruminate on and conversate about our dreams. Get together with those closest to you and share your hopes for the future and you may find that a seed of ingenuity may be planted.
The Cosmic Tea is a general temperature check of the cosmos for the week. Some of these planetary movements may be felt personally or they may go unnoticed. Each of us has a unique astrological make up designed by the cosmos at our time of birth. Some of us may have planets in our birth chart that ease the more challenging aspects in the sky, currently or they may exacerbate them. Others may experience planetary shenanigans in certain parts of their life (home, career, relationships, etc) than others who will experience the energies in different realms. For example, I am experiencing the Mars retrograde in my 6th house of work and health. I have experienced setbacks in my every day work as a server with rude customers and scheduling issues. Also many health complications have come up such as illnesses, lack of energy, and strange body rashes. Someone who has Cancer ruling their 7th house of partnerships, may experience conflict in their close relationships (partners, besties, etc) as a result of Mars’ retrograde through Cancer. All this to say, if you want to know how all of this may show up for you personally, I can certainly be of assistance. Just book a Transit Reading with me and we can decipher all the planetary shenanigans and how they might manifest for you!
